Luz joined the Targa Trophy during their unprecedented day of rallying.

The one-day exotic car driving extravaganza from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara and back, combined the experience of driving some of Southern California’s most challenging roads and the opportunity to visit, relax and mingle at some of the country’s most opulent, five-star boutique hotels.

The event festivities commenced at the renowned Fred Segal store on Melrose, a high-end lifestyle shopping experience known for its trend setting merchandise and A-list clientele.  Outside the boutique, exotic cars arrived at 7.30am, the drivers and their entourage preparing for the rally’s 9 a.m. shotgun start.

Luz was ready in anticipation, offering a friendly boudouir environment, for anyone who needed indulge in a spot of jewelry shopping before the race. Rally driving isn’t quite the same without the appropriate accessories.

The supercars wound their way northward towards their first destination: the sprawling, beachfront Bacara Resort & Spa in Santa Barbara where a restful luncheon overlooked the Pacific.  The three-hour stop allowed Houman and ralliers optimal time to enjoy the lavish grounds, exchange stories, before embarking on the final leg of the rally back to Los Angeles.

Drivers finished in style as they cruised back into Los Angeles, ending at West Hollywood’s posh Mondrian hotel.  The grand finale had the participants and guests wining and dining poolside at Sky Bar with an intimate after-party.

The Luz Angels were ready to join in the celebrations and festivities. Houman and Luz were happy to have the assistance and styling expertise of NY based, Beagy Zielinski.

Awards were announced, and unsurprisingly, 5 time Bulllrun winner, Bill Wu, was announced the winner.

Nothing says couture quite as much as New York-based fashion designer b. Michael. The ex-designer for Oscar de la Renta, has dressed Cate Blacnchett, Beyonce and Halle Berry. This September, during his Spring 2008 runway show, at NYC Fashion Week, b Michael unveiled his highly anticipated Homme menswear collection. The Luz jewelry collection was called upon to complete the look, accessorizing the bold and modern designs of b Michael.

The Breakup ring, pave set with black diamonds and punctuated by rubies, became a true favorite of b Michael. Like his collection he appreciates providing a couture piece which is designed just so, providing a sophisticated timeless element aesthetic, while twisting it just so to cause surprise and delight.

A much deserved celebration commenced at the Cellar Bar, at the fashion mecca hotel, Bryant Park. B Michael, satisfied with the unveiling of his first homme collection, shared a celebratory drink with Houman, who had been invited to accessorize his b Michael’s line with the LUZ jewelry collection.

Houman, no stranger to Bryant Park, first launched Luz in The Loft, to a private media audience. Since then, he has been a regular at Fashion Week, accessorizing for Heatherette and now with b Michael.

A who’s who of the fashion world, relaxed, and breathed a sigh of relief, happy to see the pay off from months of hard work. Congratulations b Michael and team.

In anticipation of the first Homme collection to be unveiled by couture designer, b Michael, Luz joined the flurry of activity backstage. For b Michael’s  Spring 2008 collection, the designer had chosen jewelry collection, Luz to accessorize his phenomenal menswear line.

Final touches and assessment from b, a Luz bling suggestion from Houman, last makeup adjustments from the Mac team and the models were ready to perform.

We also had the pleasure of being joined by acclaimed fashion stylist, Beagy Zilenski, who was popping in to select the LUZ pieces that she wanted to use in her Inked spread with tattooed supermodel, Eve Salvail and of course to enjoy the b Michael show.

The 22^nd Annual ‘Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’, is renowned for inaugurating and paying tribute to the most influential rock musicians, bands and producers.  Inevitably, the intrinsically bold and edgy design of LUZ caught their attention and Houman was invited to feature LUZ at the ceremony.

In true LUZ style, Houman custom designed a ring for the ceremony. Ergonomically designed, the four-sided ring  can be rotated to reveal the word, ‘Rock’, or ‘Roll’.

This year’s inductees included Slash, Kidd Rock, Van Halen, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, the Ronettes and Patti Smith. The show also honored Ahmet Ertegun, the legendary founder of Atlantic Records.  A who’s who of music, as well as Hollywood joined to celebrate.

By the end of the evening, no one had escaped the impact of LUZ with stars such as Slash, Kidd Rock, Van Halen, Grandmaster Flash, the Ronettes, Patti Smith, Duff McKagan and Dave Kushner of Velvet Revolver, Amy Pochler from Saturday Night Live, Susan Sarandon, Michael J Fox, Fred Armisen, Mele Me of Furious 5, decked out and sporting their bespoke LUZ  ring.

As the favored must-have accessory, Luz attends Miami Fashion Week, at the Heatherette ‘Funkshion’ Show, (Oct ’06). A personal worn favorite of eclectic design duo, Travor Rains, and former club kid Richie Rich, LUZ was asked to accessorize the fierce models as they blazed down the Funksion show runway.

Renowned for providing unconventional shows and entertainment, no Heatherette show is complete without a blessing for fashion icon Amanda Lapore. Introduced to Luz, Ms Lapore was quick to accessorize herself in the collection, perfectly accentuating the bold and unique collection. Thank you Ms. Lapore.

Houman, Heathette, enjoyed the success of the show and continued their celebrations at the exclusive after-party, held at the newly renovated Versace mansion.

LUZ was a large part of this year’s Glam Slam at Hotel W, San Diego, hosted by 944 Magazine.  Glam Slam is a VIP, invitation only, event that allows luxury brands to showcase their products and services to an elite group of San Diegans.

This party provides VIP insight to tomorrow’s way of luxury living, and is limited to an exclusive group of the high-profile society.  Some of this year’s brands included Symbolic Motors, Yacht’s West, and LUZ.

LUZ jewelry captured guests with its richly decorated room and exquisite pieces.
